Combined Heat and Power Plant
With this new project Karlstads Energi completely phases out fossil oil from the district heating production. This means that the district heating in Karlstad has gone from being totally dependent on oil to become fossil fuel free in 30 years. In addition to the district heating, the plant will produce about 170 GW of electricity annually that is the equivalent to the electricity consumption of about 50.000 flats.
