Shell Franklin Monaca Ethylene Cracker

Royal Dutch Shell is building a major petrochemical complex along the Ohio River right off Interstate 376, just 30 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. The construction will take up to 18 months. The Ethylene cracker facility will use low-cost ethane from shale gas producers to produce 1.6 million tons of polyethylene each year. Polyethylene is used in countless products, from food packaging to plastic containers to automotive parts. ROCKWOOL Technical Insulation is delivering mandrel wound ProRox PS 960 pipe sections with WR-Tech and ProRox MA 960 mats for firesafe insulation with a high water repellency against CUI (Corrosion Under Insulation).
