Aasta Hansteen is the first Spar structure in Norway, the first to contain condensate storage and with a total length of 198 meters the world's largest of its kind.
The process consists of a conventional gas dehydration and dew-pointing process with condensate stabilization through heating and separation. The condensate storage capacity will be 25,000 m3, whereas gas will be compressed for pipeline export to Nyhamna.
The field contains gas and condensate reserves of 40-60 GSm3 and is located at a depth of 1,300m of water. The area is characterized by particularly harsh environmental conditions, requiring innovative design solutions to be implemented.
